Leanne has a background in community-based disaster risk management, climate change adaptation, natural resource management and conservation and livelihoods. Over the course of her 20+ year career in sustainable development she has worked on international water-resource management, climate change adaptation, disaster risk management and humanitarian response programmes. She has worked predominantly in the Pacific, SE Asia and the Caribbean for a range of organisations such as NZ MFAT, UNDP, Global Environment Facility, European Union, Save the Children NZ, and Tourism Resource Consultants. Her technical skills include all stages of the project design and management cycles, vulnerability impact assessment including gender analysis, hazard assessments and inclusion approaches, strategic needs analysis, consultation and community-based approaches, workshop facilitation, establishing regional programmes, donor and partnership relationship management, policy advice, knowledge management and capacity building.
